Real estate firm Phoenix Property Investors hasn’t brought just one internationally renowned architect on board for its latest development, but five; Jim Olson, Richard Meier, Annabelle Selldorf, Calvin Tsao (of Tsao & McKown) and Steven Harris are creating 28 luxurious private houses in the Great Taipei New Town District, perched on a verdant rolling hillside facing Xueshan and just miles away from Taipei. Appropriately titled The Master Collection, the houses each come with a private swimming pool and garden, and range from approximately 6,300sqft to 13,700sqft.
Brought together by Tsao, each architect was given a large amount of freedom to create homes playing to their strengths and signature styles. For example, Olson’s houses showcase his mastery of space, light and balance with the surrounding environment, while Selldorf’s houses feature her more classic aesthetic. The five homes by Olson are slated to be completed by the end of the year. The project also features interior design by Hong Kong’s Steve Leung and landscaping by Margie Ruddick.
