Cultural connoisseurs and design enthusiasts, mark your calendars: Louis Vuitton’s Objets Nomades collection is back in town.

Casting a spell of joie de vivre over the city, just ahead of fair giants Art Basel and Art Central’s anticipated openings, the luxury behemoth’s travelling show is descending upon Hong Kong for a second consecutive year to exclusively showcase its range of limited-edition, masterfully crafted collection of travel-inspired masterpieces within the former Central Magistracy from March 23 to 31.

Coincidentally marking the unveiling of this historic building within the Tai Kwun complex following its restoration, the exhibit will be enveloped by beautiful scenography by illustrious local designer Joyce Wang that features a grand, architectural space filled with archways, portals, entryways and sensory stimulus.

Raising the bar from its debut in Hong Kong last year, the collection features pieces by some of the world’s most prolific designers complete with a few surprises. An elegant Ribbon Dance chair by homegrown talent Andre Fu will sit next to a cutting-edge leather-coated Cocoon by Campana Brothers and a Mediterranean-style Talisman Table by India Mahdavi, alongside works by the likes of Barber & Osgerby, Patricia Urquiola, Marcel Wanders and more.

The star-studded collection will introduce not one, but three new objets making their debuts this year: Atelier Oi’s Serpentine table, Atelier Biagetti’s Anemona table, and the likely star of the Hong Kong show—a stunningly plush patterned chair created by award-winning design duo Raw Edges. Melding a strong sculptural design and avant-garde sensibility with exquisite craftsmanship, the tropical-print shelled piece encapsulates the audacious yet luxurious allure central to the collection and luxury house alike.
