McDonald’s China has introduced a Cube-style flagship store inside its newly-launched headquarters on the West Bund of Shanghai, offering a limited number of NFT to company employees and customers as a gift amid the opening.
Spanning 2 floors, the 700-sq.m. flagship restaurant can accommodate over 200 customers and is the first to employ CUBE scheme in Eastern China. Also known as the “Big Mac Cube”, it is also set to become the pioneering McDonald’s restaurant in Mainland China to ever receive LEED platinum certification.
The brand has collaborated with CITIC Bookstore to launch a parent-child space combining coffee, bookstore and mini theatre for the first time. The design weaves together 3 key design elements: cube, warm colours, and hidden smile. The interior vividly transforms the sweetest childhood memories experienced at McDonald’s into a physical space endowed with carefree, joyous and heart-warming touches.
In addition, a limited number of the digital tokens will be given to some company employees and customers as a gift after the fast-food giant opened its largest store in Shanghai over the weekend, the mainland’s commercial and financial capital.
