Newly opened this week, Shangri-La Jeddah is a new luxury landmark on the waterfront of Jeddah and the Red Sea.
Shangri-La Jeddah pays homage to the brand's Asian roots while also reflecting the region's unique culture and environment in the city's iconic Burj Assila, a 64-story architectural icon and Jeddah’s tallest building- a 260-meter tall tower.
The hotel's design pays respect to Shangri-timeless La's style, while enhancing it to satisfy the evolving needs of today's travellers. Interiors draw on the three main elements of the brand’s new design ethos: Asian Sensibilities, Nature Inspired, and Spirit of Place.
The hotel's furnishings, which draw inspiration from the Corniche's natural surroundings, are decorated in blue, white, and grey tones, with strategically placed windows letting in plenty of natural light to infuse public areas and guest room.
The 220 elegant guest rooms and suites and 17 serviced apartments, have floor-to-ceiling windows that offer sweeping views over the Red Sea and the Jeddah skyline, coupled with nautical accents of light wood panelling and blue patterned carpets, and huge terraces that fully immerse visitors in the tranquillity of the waterfront, further establishing a sense of place.
Shang Palace, the brand's award-winning restaurant concept, brings soulful, sophisticated Chinese food to Saudi Arabia, with Asian Sensibilities in its menus and interiors. Shang Palace features a courtyard layout inspired by traditional courtyard siheyuan residences and serves classic meals like Roasted Peking Duck as well as modern renditions of Chinese classics.
The Waterfront Kitchen, the hotel’s all-day-dining restaurant, is inspired by yacht life and features live-cooking stations offering global delicacies, while COPA, the boutique patisserie, serves fine coffee and chocolate pairings.
The Shangri-La Grand Ballroom, which includes floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Red Sea, is likely to become the city's most popular wedding and event location, thanks to the hotel's enormous and varied event space.
