The duo’s new brand, SLD Andrea Bonini, brings together Italian craftsmanship and Asian flair in a stunning lighting collection unveiled at Milan Design Week.

Every year in April, Milan transforms into a global stage for design and creativity, and this year is no exception. Enter SLD · Andrea Bonini, a new brand co-founded by Hong Kong design maestro Steve Leung and Italian designer Andrea Bonini.

Unveiled at Milan Design Week, the brand’s debut promises to bring together Italian sophistication and Asian design sensibilities in a way that feels fresh, modern, and unapologetically luxurious.  

The new studio is perfectly located at 18 Via Montenapoleone, right in the heart of Milan’s design district. Surrounded by iconic fashion houses and high-end brands, it’s a fitting home for a brand that seamlessly bridges cultural boundaries while celebrating craftsmanship and timeless design.  

For its debut, the brand introduced a series of smart accent lamps developed in collaboration with Moorgen. These lamps combine innovative functionality with striking aesthetics — the kind of tech-savvy lighting that not only illuminate but also inspire.

AUREA

Minimalism is here to stay, and AUREA is proof of that. Inspired by classical architecture and sculpture, this lamp strips design down to its essentials. A quick twist of the leather handle sets its overlapping discs in motion, casting soft, layered shadows that feel calming yet sophisticated. It’s the kind of piece that works just as well in a five-star hotel suite as it does in your living room.  

LÙMIA

Taking cues from the sunset in Tuscany, LÙMIA features hand-stitched leather accents and a crystal-clear base, combining artisanal craftsmanship with a futuristic edge. Light refracts through the base, creating a glowing effect that’s almost hypnotic. Understated yet undeniably glamorous, it’s a perfect way to bring quiet luxury to your space.  

SALUTE

SALUTE might just be the coolest lamp-meets-coaster you’ve ever seen. Designed exclusively by Steve Leung, it features a sleek black frame that mimics tree branches, while its layered “leaves” double as glowing coasters. Whether you’re sipping whisky, champagne, or wine, SALUTE takes your evening gatherings to the next level. When illuminated, the light filters through the structure like sunlight streaming through a forest canopy — equal parts functional and fabulous.
