The Asia Contemporary Art Show will return for its autumn edition a month earlier than its usual October running date. More than 3,000 artworks (including paintings, sculptures and photography) will be on display in the Conrad Hotel’s suites.
The Asia Contemporary Art Show is a pioneer in the hotel art fair format in Asia,” says show director Mark Saunderson. There is an appeal to this format. There is an intimacy that just doesn’t occur in large exhibition halls, and it resonates with many people.”
Expect works by the likes of American figurative artist Leah Poller, Korean painter Yoo Sun-Tai, Turkish portrait artist Mertim Gokalp and many more. Some artists who stand out this year include Mario Gomez, a Chilean artist whose paintings are inspired by Latin American magical realism, Korean artist Jeong Myoung Jo, who captures traditional themes with a hyperrealist approach and local artist Martin Lever who transforms familiar Hong Kong locales into abstract ‘groundscapes,’” Mark concludes.
The Asia Contemporary Art Show will run from September 16-18 at the Conrad Hotel. A three-day pass is $220.
