Dubbed “Modular Immagination”, the Virgil Abloh-designed project explores the implications of modularity in contemporary interior design.
The late design visionary Virgil Abloh worked side by side with Cassina before his premature passing to envision "Modular Imagination", a project composed of two different-sized building blocks which can stand alone or be merged to create furniture pieces ranging from ottomans and benches to coffee table-top surface.
Combining Abloh's inspiration and originality with Cassina's expertise in quality production, the work both questions and develops the design implications of modularity. As well as inviting people to create new forms and functions, the collection also engages with sustainability. The building blocks made of plant-based matte black polymer and recycled wood can be completely disassembled for after-use recycling.
