I Strive To Maximise Every Inch Of Space Through Design.
Rico Design is a seasoned interior design and renovation company with over 20 years of experience. It has its own furniture manufacturing facility and is known for its standardised renovation processes and customer service. Its core principles – "communication, design, quality, and management" – guides it in providing professional interior design, renovation, and custom furniture services. It also offers a maintenance period for renovations, ensuring a one-stop service, worry-free experience, for its clients.
Could you describe your design philosophy, and how it came about?
As we all know, space is at a premium in Hong Kong. As an interior designer, I strive to maximise every inch of space through design by blending functionality with aesthetics. From the initial planning and design stages, I communicate closely with each client, discussing design details and maintaining a dialogue throughout the construction process. Witnessing their joy upon project completion gives me immense satisfaction and drives my commitment to excellence in every project.
Which project(s) are you most proud of this year?
The project that left the biggest impression on me this year was a two- storey independent house in Yuen Long, covering about 2,000 square feet. My design concept was to create a layout that aligned with the client's daily habits. I completely reconfigured the unit, adopting a timeless Nordic theme, incorporating smart home elements and elder-friendly designs. This ensured the entire space met the design requirements and needs of the client and their family. Once the project was completed, not only did the client love it, but I was also very satisfied with the outcome.
What's your go-to spot that inspires you the most creatively?
I love travelling to different places around the world, and some of the unique buildings I encounter during my journeys are my greatest sources of inspiration. Whenever I see distinctive architecture, I attentively examine the structure along with its intricate and captivating designs. Next, I delve into the materials and construction methods employed. This exploration ignites my creativity and expands both my artistic vision and craftsmanship knowledge.
What's next for your company?
Rico Design aims to keep up with the times. In the future, we will integrate more advanced technology and equipment into our interior design and renovation services to enhance project planning and management, ensuring every project stands out. Personally, after over 20 years in the interior design industry, I hope to nurture more talented and mission-driven interior designers by using my accumulated experience, allowing our company to continue thriving.
