The name "Infinite Design" represents infinite creativity and possibilities. How do you strengthen your own creativity?
Our company focuses on a quiet luxury design style, primarily working with light colour palettes. I often find myself observing the designs of others when visiting international brand stores. While most people are there looking at handbags, I go inside to study the decor, layout and materials used in the space. A mentor once told me that for designers, dining at high- end restaurants is not just about the food, but also about appreciating the decor of the establishments. I also enjoy visiting renowned stores to admire their interior designs. In terms of creativity, I not only explore interior design, but also delve into graphic design, seeking to incorporate graphic design elements into interior spaces such as walls.
Which project(s) are you most proud of this year?
During the pandemic, we had a residential project in Zhuhai – a duplex apartment over 5,000 square feet. Since we couldn't physically visit the site to supervise, the entire project, from the initial meetings to the final completion, was executed through image transfers and video calls. The original intent was to design a museum-style home, with a more artistic staircase. However, the technicians initially expressed concerns about the feasibility. Undeterred, I researched the installation method and shared it with them. They were then able to successfully execute the design, with the final result over 80% consistent with the original vision. Effective communication with the technicians during the design process is a major strength of ours.
What are your development plans for the coming year?
With passion for interior design, we are expanding our business into the mainland market, providing our designers with greater creative space. I believe that quality design stems from dedication, not from profit-driven mass production. So we avoid taking on too many projects to maintain quality, allowing each team member to fully develop their talents at a balanced work pace and achieve higher design value.
