Step inside Vabel Townhouse, a new London classic by Hyde Park.

For Hong Kong readers who follow London’s design scene, Queensway – between Hyde Park and Notting Hill – is quietly becoming the city’s next “village” address. At the centre of this shift, Vabel Townhouse presents 28 design-led residences that take the familiar silhouette of the Victorian townhouse and recast it as a contemporary, crafted classic.

Architecturally, Vabel Townhouse borrows the iconic proportions and crafted spirit of grand London terraces and translates them for the modern era. The building’s exterior is composed around repeating modules, creating a rhythmic facade of deep-set brickwork piers and bays that read as beautiful, monolithic configurations. A carefully selected palette of hand-finished bricks, stone, bronze and glass is composed in the same spirit: each element in harmony with the next, so the building quietly responds to the surrounding streets while weaving luxury through its narrative and letting heritage meet modernity.

Inside, the entrance sequence sets the tone. A sculptural, heavy bronze door opens onto a ground-floor lounge where traditional materials and modern forms are choreographed with atmospheric lighting and carefully chosen furniture. Wide and welcoming, and built around a sculptural marble fireplace, it offers a refined take on a classic reception room, complete with discreet concierge service. Further exploration reveals generous use of space and light, timber wall and ceiling panelling, vein-matched and patterned Sicilian marble floors, and a calming ecosystem of green roofs and communal landscaped gardens, complete with tranquil water and rejuvenating greenery shielded from the city beyond.

All apartments are constructed around a unique arrangement of timber forms – monolithic volumes that anchor expansive spaces in a flowing dialogue of texture and tone. The bespoke veneered timber joinery is engineered to the highest standard, imbued with warmth and character, and built for durability over time. As counterpoint, hand-selected marbles from Sicily and Turkey feature large aggregate forms and soft colour gradients in tones of peach, green and beige, bringing sensory richness and sculptural detail to kitchens and bathrooms.

Marking the launch, Vabel is unveiling the first five of nine fully furnished apartments that will eventually be showcased across the development. Each home has been individually designed and styled by the in-house interior design team, allowing prospective purchasers to experience a range of apartment types, layouts and interior schemes – from a nearly 800 sq ft one-bedroom with timber-clad kitchen and Ceppo Sicilia marble worktops, to a three-bedroom residence opening onto a full-width terrace and a principal suite finished in bespoke Caffè Amore marble.

For Creative Director and Co-Founder Jeremy Spencer, Vabel Townhouse embodies the studio’s philosophy of creating homes that offer “a living experience beyond expectation, enhancing the everyday.”
