Kelly Hoppen Teams Up with MAVI on Longevity‑led, Feel‑Good Interiors

Step inside a London mews where Kelly Hoppen CBE’s sanctuary-first design philosophy meets MAVI’s science of longevity.

MAVI Longevity and Kelly Hoppen CBE are joining forces to launch a new kind of luxury interior, one that looks serene and sculptural but is also quietly engineered around your biology. Their first project, a private London mews house, is a live in manifesto for this idea of longevity architecture, where every curve, shaft of light and material choice is designed to support how you sleep, recover and feel at home.

As Kelly Hoppen CBE puts it, “I have always believed that a home should be a sanctuary, and that great design is about far more than aesthetics alone.” Over the last 50 years, her approach has centred on creating spaces that feel calm, timeless and emotionally grounding, places “that people can truly live and grow within over time.”

In this collaboration, that philosophy meets MAVI’s evidence based framework of 129 health factors, from light exposure and air quality to acoustics and nervous system regulation. The entrance hall sets the tone with curved forms, soft warm lighting and concealed storage that create calm on arrival while also reducing stress responses and cutting down pollutants tracked in from outside.

For Hoppen, the partnership was an instinctive fit. “What made this collaboration with MAVI feel so natural is that we share the belief that luxury is ultimately about how a space makes you feel.” At the heart of the house, a sculptural spiral staircase rises through filtered, dappled light and shifts from cool marble to warm wood underfoot. Bonsai trees and crafted vessels add a Japanese inspired sense of tranquillity while also helping humidity and air quality as part of a broader environmental strategy. In the living room, skylights are tuned to support circadian rhythm, a double layered wall softens both noise and visuals, and a moss wall wraps a chaise longue to create a quiet biophilic corner that regulates humidity, absorbs sound and gently lowers stress.

“With this project, I spearheaded the emotional and aesthetic direction of the home, focusing on softness, balance, natural materials, flow and atmosphere, while MAVI brought in the scientific and longevity focused elements operating quietly beneath the surface,” says Hoppen. The kitchen leans into its role as social hub without tipping into sensory overload, with a circular table for slower conversation, island seating for interaction and circadian aligned lighting that moves from crisper task light to warmer evening tones. Nearby, the dining area and wellness room deepen the restorative brief with rounded furniture, soft textures and neuroacoustically tuned soundscapes that help the body shift into recovery mode.

Upstairs, the bedroom focuses on sleep quality with sculptural snake moulded walls, cocooning textiles and an ultra quiet acoustic envelope, paired with filtered air, low toxicity materials and temperature calibrated for deeper rest. The spa like bathroom completes the loop, with a freestanding tub under a circular skylight that catches morning light to strengthen circadian signals and warm amber evening lighting, humidity control and natural materials that keep this high moisture zone feeling like a sanctuary.

“The result is a home that still feels deeply luxurious and beautiful, but also actively supports restoration, sleep, calm and overall wellbeing in a very modern way. I truly believe this represents the future of luxury interiors, spaces that not only look extraordinary, but genuinely enhance the way we live and feel every day.”
