Singapores coffee brand Alchemist has chosen Taiwans historic Dadaocheng district for its latest Asian expansion, opening a stylish new cafe that blends the brands signature industrial aesthetic with local architectural heritage.
Located on Nanjing West Road, the new store is governed by the brands trademark terracotta red colour scheme, deliberately chosen to echo the neighbourhoods century-old red brick buildings, with floor-to-ceiling glass windows creating an airy, light-filled interior.

The brand has also revealed plans for a second Taiwan location in Daan District. While the Datong store embraces a cutting-edge aesthetic, the Daan outlet will take a completely different approach, incorporating natural wood elements and courtyard design to complement the areas Japanese-influenced architecture.

Founded in 2016 as a takeaway-only operation, Alchemist has become one of Singapores most recognisable coffee brands, now operating over ten locations across prime real estate including Marina Bays financial district, Orchard Road, and Chinatown. The brand has built a devoted following among Singapores office workers and international visitors alike.
Alchemists stores are easily recognisable for their distinctive design philosophy that draws from European industrial aesthetics while incorporating Asian sensibilities. The terracotta red walls, for instance, evoke Italian Tuscan architecture while minimalist steel fixtures reflect German Bauhaus principles.
The Taiwan opening follows the brands successful entry into Japan and signals Alchemists broader ambitions across Asias competitive specialty coffee market.
