Perched above the verdant slopes of The Peak, Plantation Road by STUDIO ELLA unfolds as a quietly sophisticated response to contemporary family living in Hong Kong. Spanning 3,500 square feet, this residence reflects a growing shift in the city’s luxury market—where homes are no longer just statements of status, but deeply considered environments shaped around lifestyle, flexibility, and emotional resonance.
“At Plantation Road, our intention was to design a home that feels lived-in, evolving, and deeply personal,” said Ella Bridgland, Founder of STUDIO ELLA. “In a city where many families are navigating between rental and ownership, we focused on creating comfort without compromise—crafting spaces that balance functionality and practicality while celebrating modern living. From view-framing at different scales to the careful selection of materials, every decision supports a strong sense of ‘home’—and a lasting relationship with the landscape around it.”
Led by Bridgland, the studio approaches the project with an art-driven sensibility, balancing spatial clarity with warmth and tactility. The result is a home that feels both composed and lived-in—an intentional departure from overly formal interiors often associated with high-end residences.
The architecture itself sets the tone. Defined by a subtle interplay of volumes, the home opens generously towards its surroundings, with expansive glazing that captures panoramic views while inviting natural light deep into the interior. This dialogue between inside and out informs how the space is experienced throughout the day, from soft morning light filtering into private corners to golden-hour hues animating communal areas.
Inside, the layout is anchored in fluidity. Distinct zones for gathering, retreat, and everyday rituals are carefully orchestrated yet remain visually and spatially connected.
