Wuhan 101 combines the elegance of a hotel with the comfort of a home, creating a refined and balanced living experience.
Wuhan 101 by Shenzhen 31 Design explores the integration of hotel-like luxury with the comfort and intimacy of home. Situated in the heart of Wuhan’s central business district, the project draws on the city’s cultural and geographical identity, including its connection to the Yangtze River.

The interiors are designed to create a balance between grand, social spaces and private, serene environments. The lobby features a double-height ceiling and expansive proportions, emphasising scale and openness. Design elements, such as a horse head sculpture, reference Wuhan’s horse racing culture, while the use of textures and materials evokes the reflective qualities of the Yangtze River.

The residential areas continue this balance, combining functionality with quiet elegance. An artistic staircase, constructed with over 100,000 glass bricks, acts as a sculptural centrepiece, while a rooftop pool and floor-to-ceiling windows integrate views of the river and cityscape into the living experience. The design emphasises fluidity between indoor and outdoor spaces, inviting natural light and views to become part of the interior.

Amenities such as a cigar bar, tearoom, gym, and private banquet hall further elevate the project’s focus on lifestyle. Each space is designed with attention to detail, ensuring a seamless transition between moments of activity and relaxation. The tearoom, in particular, offers a space for reflection and escape, connecting to a broader sense of tranquility within the design.
