LAAB Architects has shaped some of Hong Kongs most recognisable public spaces, from K11 MUSEA and Phillips Asia Headquarters to Victoria Dockside and the newly opened Longbridge Café in Tsim Sha Tsui. As coffee aficionados themselves, the founders operate a ground-floor café adjoining their studio headquarters, which has become a meeting point for discerning locals and creative minds alike.
What does interior design mean to you?
Interior design is the art of translating brand identity into spatial strategies. By designing spaces that tell a cohesive story, we craft a physical experience that becomes a tangible and immersive extension of the brand experience.
What was your proudest project in 2025?
Longbridge Café in Tsim Sha Tsui where we transformed their digital investing platform into the physical Longbridge Café, integrating stock trading with lifestyle. The 8,500-square-foot café spans three levels, with a striking facade featuring three monumental yellow columns that suspend the first floor like a bridge, while a 30-meter-wide glass wall – a nod to Longbridges commitment to transparency – opens the interior to the city. The interior narrates a futuristic yet intimate sense of place, through a material palette of warm oak and sleek metal, textured plaster, and a delicate mesh ceiling. A meticulously crafted wooden staircase bridges the three distinct floors, each offering a unique experience.
In addition to Longbridge Tsim Sha Tsui, we also completed Royal Garden Kowloon East, which is gradually opening in 2026.
How do you keep your creativity alive?
I find my creative spark in two places: the intimacy of everyday details and the vibrant anonymity of a new city. Both perspectives sharpen my intuition, giving me a sense of clarity to uncover the essence of object and space.
How does your design work reflect your MBTI?
Like many of my colleagues at LAAB, Im an introvert with a strong sense of intuition. I think this inner focus manifests as a design language that is both subtle and minimal. Being an introvert also makes me a good listener – I believe that the best designs are born from deep listening.
